Justin L. Heather - Chicago Attorney
Justin Heather concentrates his law practice in complex commercial litigation and international arbitration. Mr. Heather has represented clients in actions pending in state and federal courts nationwide in all phases of litigation, as well as in domestic and international arbitrations. He has represented clients ranging from small business owners to Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries.
Mr. Heather’s complex commercial litigation experience encompasses a wide range of disputes, including: intellectual property, merger and acquisition disputes, complex commercial contracts, class actions, insurance, wage payment actions, real estate matters, securities law, bankruptcy, franchise law, consumer fraud, data privacy matters, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and Lanham Act issues. He has also represented companies or their audit committees in connection with investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission and other government agencies.
Mr. Heather also has substantial experience in international arbitration and cross-border disputes. He recently represented an investment consortium in a Hong Kong-based arbitration and power plants in arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce, International Court of Arbitration. He has also represented international companies with simultaneous proceedings pending before courts in multiple countries.
Prior to forming Korey Cotter Heather & Richardson, LLC, Mr. Heather practiced commercial litigation with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP for approximately 10 years in the Litigation-Controversy department. He is also active in a number of bar associations and legal aid organizations, and currently serves as the Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. Mr. Heather also previously served as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Writing at Loyola University School of Law in Chicago.
